Movie Review - Maro Charitra (2/5)

The movie is based on a love story, which itself is really weak. Audience see Balu and Swapna meet each other. By the time the audience realize that they are in love, the story already jumps to their separation. Director should have spent more time developing the love story, rather than concentrating on parents approval of their love. The problem with parents is well taken care off before the interval; therefore they shouldn’t have wasted too much time on it. Also, after the separation the director is in such a rush to create misunderstanding between the lovers and to establish Shraddha Das's role.

Varun Sandesh is good as an ABCD, but he needs to grow some muscle or fat. He is looking too bony. His Indian accent is horrible; I’m glad it gets normal towards the end. Anita’s acting and looks are hideous. Any other homely appealing heroine would have been much better. Also, her facial expressions are a torture. Her accent is not so good either. Shraddha Das is good in the role of a business woman. It would be interesting to see her in a full pledged Cop role in the future. Urvashi acted really well, but her character was a pain in the story. That is what made the story more beautiful. The accent of Naresh is just as unappealing as Varun's accent. The comedy track involving Kota, Venky and Venu is very boring.

I haven’t watched the old Maro Charitra, which is supposed to be an amazing love story. This movie is nowhere close to amazing. Hero’s character is too weak and heroine’s character is too awkward. The so called “comedy” is at its worst.

However, the dialogues about love are simply amazing. I guess they are expected in a movie of this genre. The dialogue that Love is all about Trust and nothing else is just amazing. It is something we hear all the time, but the timing of the dialogue in the movie is good.

Also, The scenes involving the interaction between Anita and Shraddha Das towards the end are epic. The realization that Das has and her reaction towards Anita’s love are amazing.

Finally, the double twist is needed at the end. If they ended the movie with a single twist, the movie would be at its worst.

Overall: Can watch it only if you can take a crappy romantic movie.
