Movie Review (Brief) - Clash of the Titans (2/5)

The story is as usual - Hades trying to gain power over Zeus. The movie is a bit expected. Zeus lightning bolt saves the day. All Greek mythology movies have Medusa episode in them lately. My last Greek mythology movie is "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" (2010). In that movie there is a Medusa killing as well. However, something new in this movie is how they portrayed the whole body of Medusa as a snake. I don't recall anyone mentioning how Medusa's body is after she is cursed; therefore, it is interesting the way she is portrayed in the movie.

More importance is given to Demi-God Perseus in this movie. It is his journey saving man-kind and at the same time doing his father, Zeus, a favor (a favor not meant). Another interesting thing is the in the Percy Jackson movie, Percy is the son of Poseidon, but this movie got the "facts" right - Perseus is the son of Zeus.

This is my first time hearing about the "Kraken". Although I am happy about its destruction in the movie, I felt that little importance is given to this gigantic creature.

This movie survived more on action than the actual story. As a person that likes some story to a movie, "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" is much better than the "Clash of the Titans". Yes the Percy Jackson movie is the story of a kid, while this is the story of a grown man, yet the former is much better.

Overall: This is not a movie for those who don't know much about the Greek mythology, as the movie does a poor job of explaining it to them. On the other hand, if you like some action, this one has a lot of that.

End Note: Now I feel like watching "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" one more time, after watching this story-less movie.
