Movie Review - Badmaash Company (2/5)
Story is new, but nothing too exciting. In the beginning, it seemed more like Bunty aur Babli, but this is a little different. However, the overall theme is earning money by cheating.
Surprising factor for this movie is the negativity in Shahid Kapoor’s character. He is hated throughout the movie for his cheap character. However, Shahid proved himself as an actor by playing the role at ease.
Anushka Sharma’s role is also surprising, especially after a traditional role in RNBDJ. The other guys were good actors too, but can only survive as side heroes. It might have been better if they had some familiar faces as hero’s friends. On the other hand, the jokes on the Chinese guy are really good and new.
The ways the main characters earned money is good, but really repetitive, so it wasn’t too exciting after the first time. Most of the movie time is wasted with such repetitive scenes. The ending of the movie is okay, more preferably it should have included Shahid’s character apologize to his father.
There are a couple of messages in this movie:
1) It is not about the money, but it is about the values.
2) Smart brain + bad choices = destruction
A funny message is that if you cheat the Indians its fine, but never mess with the Americans. If you do, next thing you know you’ll be in prison.
Overall: Can watch if really bored or have nothing better to do.
