Mamta Mohandas. The name itself rings a lot of bells. She played some noticeable roles in movies like "Yamadonga", "Chintakayala Ravi", "Kedi" and others. Aside from acting, she is talented with her voice as well. She has sung to many popular songs like the title song of "Rakhi", "Aakaleste Annam Pedatha" from "Shankardada Zindabad".
Ever wonder why Mamta Mohandas cut off her beautiful hair and is sporting a new look with a short haircut?
In a recent interview Mamta has stated that she is "sporting this new look as I'm a cancer survivor" (Just for Women Magazine). She has been recently diagnosed with "Hodgkin's Lymphoma", a type of cancer. Her diagnosis is now complete; however, she must continue fighting it through chemotherapy and radiation. As a result of these procedures she "had to cut [her] hair". No worries on her hair style though as she always wanted to change it, so she is enjoying her new look.
She is now stable enough to continue her acting and singing career as usual. All the best to her health, career and future.
